Wind tunnel models are generally produced using aluminum, steel, composite or wooden materials. Model design and production activities are carried out by using materials that have sufficient strength to carry the gravitational and aerodynamic forces acting on the model, to keep model deformation at possible minimum level during the test and to prevent model and tunnel damage as a result of partial rupture. According to the agreement between AWT and the customer model production can be carried out either by AWT or by the customer. Before testing, a minimum set of documents required for test safety should be agreed between the customer and the tunnel personnel. Relevant documents consist of the three-dimensional model and technical drawings of the test model (Complete test model or parts of the model). These documents are examined by TÜBİTAK SAGE in terms of manufacturability, interfaces, reliability, strength and dynamic properties of the model and technical opinion is given to the customer.
